Here is one I wrote nearly ten years ago.

Only by You am I sustained.
By Your right hand you uphold me.
In disappointments and shattered dreams,
You are the shoulder on when I lean.

You wipe away my tears!
Your peace overwhelms me!
In sorry I am filled with joy!
By your grace you have kept me!

I just wanted to do a quick update on my weight loss endeavors. I’ve been at it for one month, four days. I feel like I’m doing fairly well and rejoice with ever loss.

Last week I decided to lower my maximum daily caloric intake by 1000 and am now sitting at 1290. I did this because at the end of each day I’d end up with at least 300 some times 500 extra calories. I figured I’d drop my calories and see how I do. Doing fairly well with less calories and making a conscious effort to snack less in the evenings.

I remarked to Shawn the other day that I actually did look thinner. My jeans are getting too big but the next notch on the belt is still a bit too tight. Another few pounds and I should be able to tighten the ol’ belt.

I’m exercising pretty much every day. It all started because of my Physical Therapy. They had me doing the exercise bike for 10 minutes each visit, and I figured i can do at least that at home. I’m up to 25 minutes on the bike nearly every evening, and Saturday before last we went on a 40 minute walk with two very excited Chihuahuas.

I’ve lost 5.5 lbs so far. The tracker I’m using rounds up so it say I’ve lost six.

MyFitnessPal – Free Calorie Counter

I’m feeling pretty good. Happy with the progress I’ve made, but would like to do better. Here’s to the next month.

***Oh, in regards to the Post title…I do think it’s broken. It’s still giving me accurate readings…well…sort of. Sometimes it’s very inaccurate. Sometimes when I step on it it sort of clunks. Not an encouraging sound to one who’s losing weight. I’ll be buying a new one once hubby gets paid.

On Saturday night we had a scare. Shawn and I went out on a date and got home around 8 PM. We relaxed the rest of the evening, but noticed that our little boy Chihuahua, Zeus, would cry and yelp for no apparent reason. He’d try to stand up and cry or would just be laying still and cry.

We assumed it was his back legs because he’d walk a few steps then sit down. We thought at length if we should take him to the 24-hour animal hospital, but chose to wait and take him to our vet which just happens to be open on Sundays in the morning, due to that he would be going in his crate and would be sleeping for the next eight hours or so.

Neither Shawn or I got much sleep that night. Shawn was up sick and I tossed and turned worried about Zeus. We took him to the vet in the morning and the doctor has diagnosed that our little guy has a probable herniated disk in his neck. And tested him for Valley Fever. So we’re giving him a pain med and cortisone twice a day.

I learned one thing throughout this whole experience. If God so chooses to ever bless Shawn and I with children, Shawn will be the balance to my freaking out. He is extremely level-headed. I’m certain there will be times when he freaks out but he will definitely be the balance.
